Level 2 Certificate in

Exercise to Music


 
 

This course will enable learners to work as a qualified Exercise to Music Instructor, either in a commercial gym facility or as an individual on a self employed basis.

The course is a mixture of home study, classroom theory and practical sessions which will develop your skills and knowledge, the course can be completed within approximately 3 months depending on how commited you are to completing your home study. Generally, practicals take place on weekends to make it possible for all individuals who wish to undertake this course to do so whilst not interfering with a working life. This qualification provides the knowledge and skills to enable learners to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective sessions.
This qualification will provide entry onto the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2.

Whilst on the course you will have to produce an aerobics routine lasting 1 hour which will be choriographed to music, you will have to take a class to pass your practical assessment.

It is delivered with a minimum of 3 students so the learners experience whilst at our centre is focused on quality delivery enabling the learner to develop to their full potential.

Cost - £550

All materials, including manuals will be supplied by the centre.

All learners will require access to power-point 97-2003 as a minimum for home learning.

Please note that we do not get government funding and the course is a full cost course

Entry Requirements
 
 

This qualification is open to all
The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary
There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2
Experience of studio-based exercise classes is highly recommended but not essential

 
 
Qualification structure and credit value
 
 

The learner must achieve all seven mandatory units. The total credit value is 36

  1. Unit 1 - Anatomy and physiology for exercise (H/600/9013)
    Unit 2 - Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity (M/600/9015)
    Unit 3 - Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment (T/600/9016)
    Unit 4 - Principles of exercise, fitness and health (A/600/9017)
    Unit 5 - Planning group exercise to music sessions (F/600/9021)
    Unit 6 - Instructing group exercise to music (J/600/9022)
